How many drops make a dose?
Five drops a day give 100µg (4,000 IU) of vitamin D3 and 100µg of vitamin K2 as MK-7. Shake the bottle first, then take the drops straight, with food, or in water or a cold drink.
How long does the 30ml bottle last?
About six months: the label counts 180 five-drop servings per bottle. That makes it one of the longest-lasting vitamin D products we sell.
Why is it in olive oil?
Vitamins D and K are fat-soluble, so Ultra Lyte suspends them in olive oil, with rosemary extract as an antioxidant. Taking the drops with a meal follows the label's 'preferably with food' advice.
What do vitamin D3 and K2 contribute?
Vitamin D contributes to the normal absorption of calcium, normal bones, normal muscle function and the normal function of the immune system. Vitamin K contributes to normal blood clotting and the maintenance of normal bones.
Is it vegan?
No — the D3 is made from lanolin (sheep's wool) and the K2 from natto, so it suits many vegetarians but not vegans. The label lists no known allergens.
Can children or anyone on blood thinners use it?
The label gives no children's dose, and 4,000 IU is the most vitamin D UK guidance advises for adults, so ask a pharmacist before giving it to a child. If you take warfarin or another vitamin K antagonist, check with your GP first because of the K2.
