Pump & Nitric Oxide groups the ingredients lifters add before training: citrulline and AAKG powders, L-arginine capsules, Snap Supplements beetroot powders, stick packs and gummies, and pump-style pre-workouts from 10X Athletic, LEVRONE, Fitness Authority and OstroVit. Pick a subcategory below to narrow it down.
Citrulline is an amino acid first identified in watermelon. It is sold as L-citrulline or as citrulline malate, which is bound to malic acid, so a 2:1 malate is about two-thirds citrulline. Arginine is an amino acid found in meat, fish and nuts, and AAKG is arginine bound to alpha-ketoglutarate. Beetroot is naturally rich in dietary nitrate. None of these has an authorised health claim in the UK. That is why we describe products by ingredient and amount per serving, not by promised effects.
Single ingredients let you control each dose and keep stimulants out. Premixed pump formulas save mixing, but some contain caffeine: LEVRONE Shaaboom Pump does, while 10X Athletic PUMP is sold as stimulant-free. Check the label, and count any coffee or energy drinks towards your caffeine total. For complete formulas see Pre-Workout. Many people stack these ingredients with Creatine, which has its own authorised claim at 3 g a day.
Choose single ingredients if you want to control each dose or avoid caffeine. Choose a premixed pre-workout if you want everything in one scoop, and check its label for stimulants.
Most modern pump formulas use citrulline, while arginine and AAKG are the older choices with loyal users. Neither has an authorised health claim, so choose by format, flavour and price.
Check your pre-workout label first, because many already contain citrulline or arginine. Adding more of the same ingredient is not better, so keep the combined amount within each label's guidance.
The citrulline powders, AAKG and arginine products, beetroot products and Snap Nitric Oxide Booster capsules are caffeine-free. Some pump pre-workouts, such as LEVRONE Shaaboom Pump, contain caffeine, so read each label.
Speak to your GP or pharmacist first if you take prescription medicines, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have a diagnosed medical condition. These products are for adults.
