This is our homeopathic sleep shelf: Boiron SleepCalm tablets, SleepCalm Kids in pellets and liquid doses, Camilia Bedtime, StressCalm, Boiron Jet Lag Relief pellets and Hyland's Nerve Tonic. For magnesium and other food supplements, see the separate Sleep Support range under Sleep, Stress & Mood.
Liquid doses are pre-measured, so there is nothing to count out at bedtime, while tubes of pellets are easier to carry. Nerve Tonic tablets are small and dissolve without water.
These are homeopathic medicines and contain no conventional sedative, so they are not the same as sleeping tablets from a pharmacy. Take them as the label directs, and ask a pharmacist before giving one to a child below the age on its label or using one in pregnancy or breastfeeding. If you take other medicines, check with a pharmacist first, and keep every remedy out of children's reach.
The basics of better sleep still apply: regular sleep and wake times, a dark, quiet bedroom and less caffeine later in the day. If poor sleep goes on for weeks or is affecting your daily life, speak to your GP.
For food supplements, see Sleep Support supplements; magnesium contributes to normal psychological function. More remedies are in Homeopathy.
No. They are homeopathic medicines. In the UK melatonin is a prescription-only medicine, so it is not sold here.
They are two formats in the same family: pellets dissolve in the mouth, while the liquid doses are single-use vials squeezed into the mouth, which can be easier for younger children. Check each label for the age range.
Not as such. Hyland's describes it as a cell-salt based homeopathic formula traditionally used for everyday nervous tension, and it contains no sedative. Follow the dosing table on the pack.
This range holds homeopathic medicines only. Our Sleep Support range under Sleep, Stress & Mood holds food supplements such as magnesium.
If poor sleep goes on for weeks, affects your daytime or comes with loud snoring and pauses in breathing, see your GP, who can look for a cause.
