Hair Care is our home for daily hair supplements. It currently stocks Snap Supplements Hairtonic in two separate formulas, one for women and one for men, each a 60-capsule bottle designed to sit alongside your usual shampoo and styling routine rather than replace it.
Hairtonic for Women is a veggie-capsule formula taken as two capsules a day with food. Hairtonic for Men follows the same daily-capsule idea with its own nutrient profile, and Snap positions it for hair and beard. The two are not interchangeable, so if you are buying for a household, get one of each rather than sharing a bottle.
Only a handful of nutrients carry authorised claims for hair in the UK, so these are worth finding on the ingredients panel:
Botanicals, collagen and amino acids are common in hair formulas too, but they have no authorised claims, so treat them as extras rather than the reason to buy. Hair grows slowly, so give any routine two to three months of daily use before judging it.
If you would rather take a single nutrient than a blend, biotin tablets and drops are in Beauty Supplements, for example Jarrow Biotin 5000 mcg. Zinc and selenium also appear in many multivitamins, so check your total intake if you take one alongside a hair formula. Washes for breakouts on the body or along the hairline are in Skin Care.
They are formulated separately with different nutrient profiles. Choose the one made for the person taking it, and compare both labels if you are unsure.
Two capsules a day with food, as stated on the label. Most people take them with the same meal each day so the habit sticks.
Check the Hairtonic label first: if it already contains biotin or zinc, a second product doubles up. Keep to the daily amounts each label gives.
Speak to your GP, midwife or health visitor before starting any hair supplement while pregnant or breastfeeding, and take the label with you. Hair shedding after birth is common and worth mentioning to them.
Hair grows roughly a centimetre a month, so allow at least two to three months of daily use before deciding whether a routine suits you.
