How much biotin is in each capsule?
5,000mcg of biotin as d-biotin, which is 10,000% of the UK reference intake of 50mcg. Each capsule also provides 145mg of calcium from dicalcium phosphate.
How do I take it?
One capsule a day with a meal, so the 100 capsules of Jarrow Biotin last just over three months.
What does biotin do?
Biotin contributes to the maintenance of normal hair, normal skin and normal mucous membranes. It also contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism, normal macronutrient metabolism and the normal functioning of the nervous system.
Do I need to stop before a blood test?
Tell your doctor or the clinic you're taking it before any blood test. Jarrow's label warns that biotin can interfere with lab results, and high-dose biotin is known to skew some tests, including thyroid and heart tests.
5,000mcg or 10,000mcg?

Is it vegan?
The capsule is plant-based hydroxypropyl methylcellulose and the other ingredients are calcium phosphate, microcrystalline cellulose, vegetable magnesium stearate and silicon dioxide. Jarrow lists it as free of wheat, gluten, soy, dairy, egg, fish, shellfish, peanuts, tree nuts and sesame, and it's Non-GMO Project Verified.
Can I take it while pregnant?
