What is Boiron StressCalm used for?
Its US label says StressCalm temporarily relieves symptoms of occasional stress such as nervous tension, irritability, fatigue, uneasiness, hypersensitivity to stress or noise, and digestive symptoms caused by stress. Boiron states that these claims are based on traditional homeopathic practice, not accepted medical evidence.
How do I take it?
Adults and children 12 and over dissolve 2 tablets in the mouth 3 times a day when symptoms start, until they ease. No food or water is needed.
How long does a box of 60 last?
Ten days at the full 6 tablets a day. Because the label says to take it only until symptoms are relieved, it is meant for stressful spells rather than as a daily routine.
What are the active ingredients?
Six homeopathic dilutions at 6C: Aconitum napellus, Belladonna, Calendula officinalis, Chelidonium majus, Jequirity and Viburnum opulus. The unflavoured tablets are made with croscarmellose sodium, lactose and magnesium stearate, so ask a pharmacist first if you avoid lactose.
Will StressCalm make me sleepy at work?
No — the label says it does not affect alertness, and Boiron describes StressCalm as non-drowsy with no known drug interactions. For bedtime, Boiron SleepCalm Tablets, which we also stock, are a separate formula.
When should I see a doctor?
Stop and ask a doctor if symptoms last more than 2 weeks or get worse. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, ask a health professional before use, and for children under 12 the label says to ask a doctor.
