Your questions, answered
What is Boiron NauseaCalm labelled for?
Boiron's US label lists relief of nausea and vomiting linked to an upset stomach, overindulgence in food and drink or stomach flu, and of nausea or dizziness from travel, amusement rides or video games. Boiron states that these uses are based on traditional homeopathic practice, not accepted medical evidence.
How many tablets do I take?
Adults and children aged 7 and over dissolve 2 tablets in the mouth when symptoms start, repeating if needed up to 3 times a day. That's a maximum of 6 tablets a day, so the 60-tablet box lasts at least 10 days at the full dose.
Can young children take NauseaCalm?
Yes, from age 2. The box gives a separate direction for children aged 2 to 6, with the tablets dissolved in a tablespoon of water to make them easier to take; for children under 2, ask a doctor.
Do I need water, and will it make me drowsy?
No water is needed, because the unflavoured tablets melt in the mouth. Boiron describes NauseaCalm as non-drowsy and free from caffeine, aspirin and antihistamines.
When should I stop and see a doctor?
Stop and ask a doctor if nausea or vomiting comes with diarrhoea, a severe headache, fever or severe stomach pain or cramping, or if symptoms last more than 2 days or get worse. If you're pregnant or breastfeeding, check with a pharmacist or GP before using it.
NauseaCalm or MotionCalm?
Both contain the same five homeopathic actives at 4C: Cocculus indicus, Ipecacuanha, Nux vomica, Tabacum and Petroleum. NauseaCalm is labelled for stomach-related nausea as well as travel, while Boiron MotionCalm, which we also stock, is labelled only for motion sickness and adds a preventive dose on the evening before you travel.
Individual results may vary.
