What is Cyclease Cramp used for?
Its Drug Facts say Boiron Cyclease Cramp temporarily relieves symptoms associated with menstrual cramps, such as discomfort and minor aches and pain. It's a homeopathic medicine, and Boiron states the uses are based on traditional homeopathic practice, not accepted medical evidence.
How do I take the tablets?
Adults and children 12 and over: at the onset of symptoms, dissolve 2 tablets under the tongue, wait 15 minutes, then repeat every 15 minutes as needed until symptoms ease. Don't exceed 12 doses (24 tablets) a day; for under-12s, ask a doctor.
What's in each tablet?
Cimicifuga racemosa 6C, Colocynthis 6C and Magnesia phosphorica 6C, 0.8 mg of each. The inactive ingredients are croscarmellose sodium, lactose and magnesium stearate.
Can I use it alongside ibuprofen or paracetamol?
Cyclease Cramp contains no NSAIDs or caffeine and won't make you drowsy, and Boiron says it has no known drug interactions. If you're unsure about combining it with another medicine, check with a pharmacist.
Is it suitable if I'm lactose intolerant?
It contains lactose as part of the tablet base, so it isn't lactose-free. Check with your pharmacist or GP if you're lactose intolerant.
What if I'm pregnant, or the cramps don't settle?
If you're pregnant or breastfeeding, the label says to ask a health professional before use. Stop and see a doctor if symptoms last more than 7 days or get worse.
How many doses are in a pack?
60 tablets make 30 doses of 2 tablets. Keep them below 30°C and don't use them if the carton flaps are open or the blister seal is broken.
