How much vitamin C is in each capsule?
1,000mg of vitamin C as L-ascorbic acid, 1,250% of the reference intake. You take one capsule a day, so the 90 capsules last three months.
When should I take it?
One capsule with about 300ml of water, ideally after your main meal; taking it with food is gentler on the stomach.
What does vitamin C do?
Vitamin C contributes to the normal function of the immune system, including during and after intense physical exercise. It also contributes to normal collagen formation for skin, bones, cartilage and gums, to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue, and it increases iron absorption.
Is 1,000mg a day too much?
For most adults one capsule is fine, but the NHS notes that more than 1,000mg a day can cause stomach pain, diarrhoea and wind. Don't stack Trec Vitamin C 1000 with other high-dose vitamin C products.
Plain Vitamin C 1000 or Ultra Bioflav?
Both give 1,000mg of vitamin C per capsule. Trec Vitamin C 1000 Ultra Bioflav, which we also stock, adds citrus bioflavonoids in a 30-capsule pack, while this plain version gives 90 capsules.
What's the capsule made of?
Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, a plant-cellulose shell, with magnesium salts of fatty acids as the only other ingredient; there's no gelatine. Trec doesn't show a vegan mark on our listing.
