Your questions, answered
How much zinc is in each capsule?
15mg of zinc as zinc gluconate, which is 150% of the UK reference intake. One capsule is the full daily serving.
How long does a tub last?
90 days at one capsule a day, so a tub of Trec Nutrition Zinc covers three months.
When should I take it?
After a meal with a glass of water (Trec suggests about 300ml). Zinc on an empty stomach makes some people feel queasy, and high-dose iron or calcium taken at the same time compete with it, so space those apart.
What does zinc do?
Zinc contributes to the normal function of the immune system, the protection of cells from oxidative stress, the maintenance of normal skin, hair and nails, and the maintenance of normal testosterone levels in the blood.
Can I take it with a multivitamin?
Add up the zinc first: UK guidance is to take no more than 25mg of zinc a day from supplements unless a doctor advises otherwise. With 15mg in Trec Nutrition Zinc, a multivitamin with 10mg or less keeps you within that.
Who shouldn't take it?
The label says it isn't suitable for children or for pregnant or breastfeeding women. It's made where milk, soy, gluten, eggs, peanuts and nuts are handled, so traces may be present.
Capsules or liquid zinc?
Trec's capsule is a fixed 15mg dose with no taste. If you can't swallow capsules, Trace Minerals Ionic Zinc 50 mg - 59 ml, which we also stock, is a liquid you measure in drops, but read its serving carefully as it's stronger.
