How much taurine is in each capsule?
900 mg of free-form taurine, so the maximum of three capsules a day gives 2,700 mg. The capsule shell is hypromellose (plant cellulose) coloured with iron oxides.
How should I take Taurine 900?
One capsule up to three times a day, between meals, each with about 300 ml of water. Don't go over three capsules a day.
How long does the tub last?
30 days at three capsules a day, 45 days at two, or three months at one.
What does taurine do?
There's no authorised health claim for taurine in the UK, so Trec Taurine 900 is sold on its dose alone. It contains no caffeine or sugar, unlike the energy drinks that made taurine famous.
Can I take it with my pre-workout?
Yes, but add up the totals first. Many pre-workouts already contain taurine, including Trec's own S.A.W. and Boogieman, so count what's in your scoop before adding capsules.
Who shouldn't take it?
Trec's label says it's for adults over 18 only and not for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding. It may contain traces of milk, soy, gluten, egg, peanuts and nuts, and should be used within 3 months of opening.
Trec Taurine 900 or NOW Taurine 1000mg?
NOW Foods Taurine 1000mg Double Strength, which we also stock, has slightly more per capsule (1,000 mg) and 100 veggie capsules. Trec Taurine 900 has 90 capsules of 900 mg and is part of Trec's Endurance range.
