How much iodine is in 3 drops?
225mcg of iodine, as potassium iodide, in each 0.2ml (3 drop) serving, which is 150% of the NRV. Each serving also contains 100mg of ConcenTrace trace minerals, supplying 8mg of magnesium.
How long does the 59ml bottle last?
About 295 days at one 3-drop serving a day, so one bottle of Trace Minerals Ionic Iodine lasts close to ten months.
How do I take it?
Shake the bottle, then add 3 drops to juice or water once a day. Store it at room temperature; the directions on our listing say not to refrigerate it.
What does iodine do?
Iodine contributes to the normal production of thyroid hormones and normal thyroid function, normal cognitive function, normal energy-yielding metabolism and the normal functioning of the nervous system.
Can I take it if I have a thyroid condition?
Ask your GP first if you have a thyroid condition or take thyroid medication, and don't take more than 3 drops a day. The NHS says 0.5mg (500mcg) a day or less of iodine from supplements is unlikely to cause harm; one serving is 225mcg.
Is this a potassium supplement?
No. Potassium iodide is just the salt the iodine comes from, and the amount of potassium is tiny. If potassium is what you want, Trace Minerals Ionic Potassium 99mg is a separate product we also stock.
Is it vegan?
Yes. The bottle is marked certified vegan and gluten-free with no known allergens; apart from the minerals, it's purified water with potassium sorbate and citric acid.
