Your questions, answered
How much potassium is in a serving?
99mg of potassium, as potassium chloride, in each 1.75ml serving (1/3 teaspoon, about 35 drops). That is roughly 5% of the 2,000mg UK reference intake, so Ionic Potassium is a small top-up rather than a large dose.
How long does the 59ml bottle last?
A bottle of Ionic Potassium lasts about 33 days at one 1.75ml serving a day. The label suggests dividing the serving through the day, for example a few drops in each glass of water.
What else is in the drops?
Each serving also contains 375mg of ConcenTrace trace minerals, which supply 300mg chloride, 30mg magnesium, 65mg sodium and 10mg sulphate. The other ingredients are sea minerals, purified water and non-GMO citric acid, with no known allergens.
Can it claim any benefits?
Only for chloride: the 300mg per serving is about 38% of the reference intake, and chloride contributes to normal digestion by production of hydrochloric acid in the stomach. At 99mg, the potassium is below the amount needed for a potassium claim.
How should I take it, and what does it taste like?
Shake the bottle, then add the serving to water or a flavoured drink rather than taking it neat, as concentrated mineral drops taste strongly salty. Keep the bottle at room temperature; the label says do not refrigerate.
Is it safe with blood-pressure medicine or kidney problems?
Check with your GP first. Anyone with kidney problems, or taking medicines that affect potassium levels such as some blood-pressure tablets, should get advice before adding potassium; this isn't printed on the label we've seen.
Individual results may vary.
