How much chromium is in each serving?
Each 1.25 ml serving (¼ tsp, about 25 drops) gives 550 mcg of chromium as chromium chloride, around 1,375% of the UK reference intake. The 59 ml bottle of Trace Minerals Ionic Chromium holds about 48 servings, so it lasts roughly seven weeks at one serving a day.
How do I take the drops?
Stir 1.25 ml into juice or food once a day. The label suggests juice or food because the concentrated mineral taste is strong in plain water.
What does chromium do?
Chromium contributes to normal macronutrient metabolism and to the maintenance of normal blood glucose levels. Ionic Chromium gives you that as a liquid you can measure to the drop instead of a tablet.
What else is in the bottle?
Each serving also contains 330 mg of ConcenTrace trace minerals from the Great Salt Lake, which add 20 mg magnesium, 70 mg chloride and 100 mcg boron. The rest is purified water, non-GMO citric acid and under 0.1% potassium benzoate as a preservative.
Is 550 mcg a lot?
Yes, it's a strong dose, so stick to the 25 drops on the label rather than adding more. If you take medication to manage your blood sugar, check with your GP or pharmacist before you start a chromium supplement.
Is Ionic Chromium vegan, and should I refrigerate it?
It is certified vegan and gluten-free, with no known allergens on the label. Don't refrigerate it: keep it capped at room temperature.
Liquid chromium or capsules?
