500mg of berberine HCl extracted from Berberis aristata (Indian barberry) root, in a hypromellose capsule with maltodextrin, stearic acid and magnesium stearate. It's labelled suitable for vegans, with no yeast, dairy, egg, gluten, soy or wheat.
How do I take it?
One capsule once or twice a day with meals, as the Source Naturals label directs, so up to 1,000mg a day. Swallow it whole: opened, berberine tastes intensely bitter and stains bright yellow.
How long does a bottle last?
60 days at one capsule a day, or 30 days at two a day.
What will berberine do for me?
Berberine has no authorised health claims in the UK, so we describe Source Naturals Berberine rather than promise results. It's a bright-yellow plant alkaloid found in barberry, goldenseal and Oregon grape, with a long history in traditional Ayurvedic and Chinese herbal practice.
