Take 1 serving (1/2 tablet) daily. The product is intended for adults; children must not take it. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose.

How much iodine is in a serving?
Half a tablet gives 200µg of iodine as potassium iodide, which is 133% of the daily reference intake. A whole tablet would be 400µg, double the serving.
Do I really need to split the tablets?
Yes — OstroVit's recommended use is ½ tablet once a day, so every tablet covers two days. A pill splitter gives you cleaner halves than a knife.
How long does a tub last?
About 500 days, because 250 tablets halved make 500 daily servings, so one tub of OstroVit Iodine covers well over a year. Keep it tightly closed in a dry place at 15–25°C.
What does iodine do?
Iodine contributes to the normal production of thyroid hormones and normal thyroid function, and to normal energy-yielding metabolism, cognitive function and nervous system function. Milk, dairy and white fish are the main UK sources, so people who eat little of them often look at a supplement.
Can I take it if I have a thyroid condition or I'm pregnant?
Speak to your GP first if you have a thyroid condition or take thyroid medication. The label says the product is intended for adults and names pregnant and breastfeeding women among those it's meant for, but check the dose with your midwife if your pregnancy vitamin already contains iodine; children must not take it.
What else is in the tablet?
Microcrystalline cellulose, starch, silicon dioxide and magnesium salts of fatty acids carry the potassium iodide. The label warns it may contain traces of milk (including lactose), soy, peanuts, other nuts, sesame, cereals containing gluten, eggs, crustaceans and fish.
Tablets or liquid iodine?
