How much of each vitamin is in one ADEK tablet?
Vitamin A 800 µg (100% RI), vitamin D3 50 µg / 2,000 IU (1,000% RI), vitamin E 12 mg (100% RI) and vitamin K2 as MK-7 75 µg (100% RI).
How long does a tub last?
200 days at one tablet a day, so a little over six and a half months. Take it after a meal, since all four vitamins are fat-soluble.
Who is OstroVit ADEK for?
OstroVit labels it for healthy adults under 75 and suggests a 25-(OH)D vitamin D blood test and a chat with your doctor or pharmacist before you start. It isn't for children or pregnant or breastfeeding women.
Can I take ADEK with warfarin?
No — the label says it must not be used by people taking vitamin K antagonist anticoagulants such as warfarin or acenocoumarol, as the vitamin K can interfere with them.
What do these four vitamins do?
Vitamin D contributes to the maintenance of normal bones and normal immune function, vitamin K to normal blood clotting and normal bones, vitamin E to the protection of cells from oxidative stress, and vitamin A to normal vision and normal skin.
Is ADEK vegan?
No — the vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) comes from lanolin, the wax in sheep's wool, so it isn't vegan. The K2 is MK-7 made with Bacillus subtilis natto.
ADEK or OstroVit Vitamin D3 4000 IU + K2?
Choose ADEK if you want vitamins A and E as well, with 2,000 IU of D3 per tablet. OstroVit Vitamin D3 4000 IU + K2, which we also stock, has twice the D3 and no A or E; don't take the two together without advice.
