What does the 1200mg on Super Omega 3-6-9 mean?
Each Super Omega 3-6-9 softgel holds 1,200mg of oil, a blend of borage seed, fish and organic flaxseed oils. The two-softgel serving gives 800mg of each oil.
How much EPA, DHA and GLA is in a serving?
NOW lists 604mg of omega-3 per two softgels, including 126mg EPA and 78mg DHA, plus 539mg of omega-6 (160mg GLA from borage) and 225mg of omega-9. Most of the remaining omega-3 is ALA from the flaxseed oil.
Is there enough EPA and DHA for the heart claim?
No. The authorised heart claim needs 250mg of EPA plus DHA a day, and two softgels give 204mg. If EPA and DHA are your priority, a concentrated fish oil such as Ultra Lyte Omega 3 Fish Oil 2000mg is the better fit.
How do I take it, and how long does a bottle last?
Two softgels a day with food, so the 90 softgels last 45 days. Taking them with a meal also helps avoid fishy repeats.
Is it suitable for vegetarians or allergy sufferers?
No. NOW Super Omega 3-6-9 contains fish (sardines and anchovies), the softgel is bovine gelatin and the vitamin E is soy-derived. It isn't made with wheat, gluten, milk, egg or shellfish ingredients.
Who should check before taking it?
The label says adults only, and to consult a doctor first if you're pregnant or breastfeeding, take medication or have a medical condition. Leave the freshness sachet in the bottle; it isn't for eating.

Both blend borage, flax or linseed and fish oils. NOW gives more EPA and DHA per daily serving, 126mg and 78mg from two softgels, against 40.5mg and 27mg from Trec Nutrition Omega-3-6-9's three capsules.
