How much vitamin D is in each capsule?
50 mcg (2,000 IU) of vitamin D3 as cholecalciferol, which is 1,000% of the reference intake. One capsule is the full daily amount.
How long does the tub last?
120 days at one capsule a day, so four months, which covers most of the darker months in one tub.
When should I take it?
Once a day with water, during or just after a meal. Vitamin D is fat-soluble, so taking it with food is the usual advice.
What does vitamin D do?
Vitamin D contributes to normal immune function, to the maintenance of normal bones, teeth and muscles, and to normal absorption of calcium and phosphorus.
Is it vegetarian?
Yes — Essensey Vitamin D3 is a dry capsule made of plant cellulose (HPMC) with maltodextrin, not a gelatin softgel. Traces of milk, soy, gluten, fish and peanuts may be present from the factory.
Does it contain vitamin K2?
No — this is vitamin D3 only. If you want both, Essensey Vitamin D3 + K2 MK-7 90 Caps, which we also stock, is the combined version.
Who shouldn't take 2,000 IU?
The label says it's for adults and isn't intended for children or pregnant or breastfeeding women. Count vitamin D from any other supplements too: NHS advice is not to take more than 100 mcg (4,000 IU) a day.
