What's in each capsule?
1,000mg of fish oil providing 180mg EPA and 120mg DHA, plus 50µg (2,000 IU) of vitamin D3, which is 1,000% of the reference intake. One capsule is the daily portion.
What do the EPA, DHA and vitamin D contribute to?
EPA and DHA contribute to the normal function of the heart, with the benefit at 250mg a day; one capsule gives 300mg. Vitamin D contributes to the normal function of the immune system and to the maintenance of normal bones.
How long does a tub last?
90 days at one capsule a day. Take it with a glass of water during or straight after a meal.
Is 2,000 IU of vitamin D too much?
No, on its own it's within UK guidance: 2,000 IU (50µg) is half the 100µg a day that adults are advised not to exceed. If you also take another vitamin D product, add the two together before using both.
Who shouldn't take it?
The label says ESSENSEY Omega-3 + D3 isn't for children or pregnant or breastfeeding women, and it's intended for healthy adults up to 75. Don't take it if you're allergic to fish.
Is it suitable for vegetarians?
No — it's fish oil in a gelatine capsule. It may also contain traces of milk, soya, gluten, egg, peanuts and nuts.
This or the plain ESSENSEY Omega-3?
If your vitamin D is already covered, ESSENSEY Omega-3 Fatty Acids 90 Caps gives you fish oil without it. ESSENSEY Omega-3 + D3 suits you if you'd like both in one capsule.
