How much berberine is in a serving?
Two capsules give 1,000 mg of berberine hydrochloride (97%) from Indian barberry, Berberis aristata, so 500 mg per capsule. Each serving also has 35 mg of AstraGin.
How do I take it, and how long does the tub last?
Two capsules a day with food, as the label directs. The 60 capsules give 30 servings, a 30-day supply.
What can berberine do?
Berberine has no authorised health claims in the UK, so we don't make blood sugar or weight-loss promises for it. Applied Nutrition Berberine is a standardised extract at a clear 1,000 mg daily dose.
What is AstraGin?
AstraGin is NuLiv Science's blend of Astragalus membranaceus and Panax notoginseng root extracts. Applied Nutrition adds 35 mg per serving with the aim of supporting uptake.
Can I take it with medication?
Check with a qualified health professional first, as the label asks, if you take any prescription or over-the-counter medicine or have a medical condition. The same applies if you're under 18, pregnant or breastfeeding.
Is it vegan, Halal and safe for tested athletes?
Yes — the label marks it vegan and veggie friendly, Halal certified and part of Applied Nutrition's Tested for Athletes programme. It has no common allergens, though the factory also handles milk, egg, soy, fish and gluten.
