The ABE shaker is built around a leak-proof screw lid with a firm-closing flip cap, and the mesh grill breaks up powder as you shake so you are not chewing clumps of pre-workout. At 400ml it is sized for pre-workout and standard protein servings rather than giant smoothies.
Is 400ml big enough for a protein shake?
For a single scoop with 250-350ml of liquid, yes - that is the classic serving. If you like double-scoop shakes drowned in milk, you will want a bigger vessel; for pre-workout, 400ml is close to ideal because those servings are small.
How do I stop it smelling like old protein after a week?
Rinse it as soon as you finish rather than letting it stew in the car, and give the mesh grill a separate scrub - that is where residue hides. A periodic soak with bicarbonate of soda resets even a well-used shaker.
Shaker or the 1L Lifestyle bottle - which do I need?
Different jobs: this is the mixing vessel for shakes and pre-workout, the 1L bottle is your all-day water supply. Most gym bags end up carrying one of each - mixing pre-workout in a water bottle is how bottles get ruined.
