What vitamins are in each tablet?
One tablet gives 100% of the reference intake for 13 vitamins: A 800µg, C 80mg, D 5µg, E 12mg, K 75µg, thiamin 1.1mg, riboflavin 1.4mg, niacin 16mg, B6 1.4mg, folic acid 200µg, B12 2.5µg, biotin 50µg and pantothenic acid 6mg. There are no minerals, so it isn't a full vitamin-and-mineral multi.
How do I take it?
Dissolve one Multivitamin Sport Effervescent tablet in 200ml of water once a day and drink it once the fizzing stops. The tube of 20 lasts 20 days.
What do the vitamins do?
Vitamin C contributes to normal immune function, and vitamin B6, B12, niacin and riboflavin contribute to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue. Vitamin D contributes to the maintenance of normal muscle function.
Is 5µg of vitamin D enough?
It meets the 5µg reference intake used on food labels, but the UK government advises 10µg a day in autumn and winter, so Multivitamin Sport Effervescent covers half of that. Some people add a separate vitamin D supplement in the darker months.
What else is in the tablet?
Sucralose to sweeten, sorbitol as a binder, citric acid and sodium carbonates for the fizz, beetroot and carotene colours and orange flavouring. The label warns that excessive consumption may have a laxative effect, so stick to one a day.
Can children or pregnant women take it?
No — Trec says it isn't intended for children or for pregnant or breastfeeding women. It may also contain traces of milk, soy and gluten.
