What is M-C-T Gold?
Pure MCT oil: medium-chain triglycerides and nothing else, in a 400ml bottle. MCTs are fats with shorter carbon chains than most dietary fats, which is why keto and low-carb eaters like them.
How much should I use?
The front of the bottle shows about 14g of MCT per serving, roughly a tablespoon. If you're new to MCT oil, start with a teaspoon and build up over a week or two, because a large first dose often upsets the stomach.
Is it keto-friendly?
Yes. M-C-T Gold is pure fat with no carbohydrate, sugar or protein. It isn't calorie-free, though: a 14g serving is roughly 110 kcal.
Can I cook with it?
Use it cold or gently warm rather than for frying: stir it into coffee, shakes, porridge or salad dressings. MCT oil has a lower smoke point than most cooking oils.
Will MCT oil help me burn fat?
We can't claim that: MCT oil has no authorised fat-burning or weight-loss claim in the UK. It's a carb-free fat that fits low-carb eating, and its calories still count.
Does it taste of coconut?
No. It's neutral in taste and smell, so it disappears into coffee or a shake, which is why one 400ml bottle of M-C-T Gold covers so many uses.
