How long does a tub of 300 tablets last?
50 days at the full six tablets a day, or 75 days at four a day. It's the same Electrolyte Stamina serving as the 90-tablet bottle, in a tub better suited to daily training or a long expedition.
What's in a six-tablet serving?
250mg magnesium, 590mg potassium, 270mg sodium, 800mg chloride, 2mg vitamin B6, 5mg iron, 100mg taurine and 1,530mg ConcenTrace trace minerals, plus kelp and alfalfa. Trace sums that up as over 3,000mg of electrolytes per serving.
When should I take them on a long ride or hike?
Split 4 to 6 tablets a day between meals and before and after exercise, and swallow them with plenty of fluid. Because they're flavourless tablets, your bottle stays plain water.
What do the magnesium and vitamin B6 do?
Magnesium contributes to electrolyte balance and normal muscle function, and vitamin B6 contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism. Six Electrolyte Stamina tablets give two-thirds of the magnesium reference intake and about 140% of the B6.
Is it safe to keep the tub in a family kitchen?
Only out of reach: each serving contains iron, and the label warns that accidental overdose of iron-containing products is a leading cause of fatal poisoning in children under 6. Keep the 300-tablet tub high up with the lid closed.
Are the tablets vegan and gluten-free?
Yes, the current Trace label marks Electrolyte Stamina as Certified Vegan and gluten-free with no known allergens. They include 100mg kelp, a seaweed that naturally contains iodine, which matters if you've been told to watch your iodine intake.
