What's in a day's six tablets?
Six tablets give 250mg magnesium, 590mg potassium, 270mg sodium, 800mg chloride, 5mg iron, 2mg vitamin B6, 100mg taurine and 1,530mg ConcenTrace trace minerals, plus kelp and alfalfa. Four tablets give two-thirds of each amount.
How many should I take, and when?
Four to six tablets a day, depending on how active you are, split between meals and before and after exercise, with plenty of fluid. The 90-tablet bottle lasts 15 days at six a day, or about 22 days at four.
Do the tablets taste of anything?
No. Electrolyte Stamina tablets are flavourless, which is why hikers, travellers and people who dislike sweet sports drinks carry them. Swallow them with a full glass of water.
What does the magnesium do?
Magnesium contributes to electrolyte balance, normal muscle function and a reduction of tiredness and fatigue; six tablets give 250mg, two-thirds of the 375mg reference intake. The vitamin B6 also contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.
Is there anything to be careful about?
Yes. Six tablets contain 5mg of iron, and the label warns that accidental overdose of iron-containing products is a leading cause of fatal poisoning in children under 6, so keep the bottle out of reach. The tablets also contain 100mg kelp, a seaweed and natural source of iodine.
Is it vegan?
Yes. The current Trace label shows the Electrolyte Stamina tablets as Certified Vegan and gluten-free, with no known allergens, and the tablets are coated in HPMC, a plant cellulose.
90 or 300 tablets, or the Power Pak sachets?
