How to use it
Shake the bottle well. Adults and children 12 years and over: take 1 dose (15 ml, use the included dosing cup) every 30 minutes as needed, or for diarrhoea 2 doses (30 ml) every hour. Do not exceed 8 doses (120 ml) in 24 hours. If symptoms persist beyond 2 days or worsen, stop use and consult a doctor.

What does Pepto-Bismol Ultra Cherry relieve?
Diarrhoea, including travellers' diarrhoea, and upset stomach from overindulgence in food and drink, including heartburn, indigestion, nausea, gas, belching and fullness. Those are the uses on the Pepto-Bismol Ultra label.
How much do I take?
Adults and children 12 and over take 15ml every half hour as needed for upset stomach, or for diarrhoea either 15ml every half hour or 30ml every hour. Do not exceed 8 doses (120ml) in 24 hours, shake well and use only the dose cup provided; for children under 12, ask a doctor.
How is Ultra different from Original Pepto-Bismol?
Ultra is twice as concentrated: each 15ml contains 525mg bismuth subsalicylate, the amount Original provides in 30ml. That means a smaller dose, so do not carry over measuring habits from Original Pepto-Bismol, such as our Original Cherry 236ml.
Is the cherry 473ml bottle any different from the 12oz Unflavoured Ultra?
Only in flavour and size: both are Pepto-Bismol Ultra with 525mg per 15ml dose. The 473ml cherry bottle holds about 31 doses, compared with about 23 in the 354ml unflavoured bottle.
Why has my tongue or stool turned black?
This is a known effect: the label says a temporary but harmless darkening of the stool and/or tongue may occur. That is different from having bloody or black stool before you start: the label says not to use Pepto-Bismol in that case.
Who should not take it?
Children and teenagers who have or are recovering from chickenpox or flu-like symptoms, because of the risk of Reye's syndrome, and anyone allergic to salicylates (including aspirin), taking other salicylates, or with an ulcer or bleeding problem. Check with a doctor or pharmacist first if you take medicine for blood thinning, diabetes, gout or arthritis, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
When should I stop and see a doctor?
Stop and ask a doctor if symptoms get worse or last more than 2 days, if diarrhoea lasts more than 2 days, or if you notice ringing in the ears or hearing loss. Drink plenty of clear fluids to help prevent dehydration while you have diarrhoea.
