What is the active ingredient in Body Clear Body Scrub?
Salicylic acid 2%, listed in the US Drug Facts as an acne treatment. Neutrogena Body Clear Body Scrub puts it in a foaming wash for breakouts on the back, chest and shoulders.
How do I use it in the shower?
Use it daily in the shower or bath. For the most lather, massage it over wet skin with a washcloth or body puff, concentrate on breakout-prone areas, then rinse well.
What are the scrubby bits made of?
Jojoba esters, the "new exfoliators" named on the bottle, rather than plastic microbeads. The wash also contains glycerin, chamomile flower extract and fragrance.
Can I use it with my other acne products?
Use one at a time. The label warns that skin irritation and dryness are more likely if you use another topical acne medication at the same time, and says that if irritation occurs, you should use only one acne product.
Can I use it on my face?
It is labelled as a body scrub, and the label says to avoid contact with the eyes; if it gets in, flush thoroughly with water. For your face, choose a product made for facial skin.
Body Scrub or Body Clear Body Wash?
The Neutrogena Body Clear Body Wash Pink Grapefruit, which we also stock, is the smooth everyday cleanser. The Body Scrub adds jojoba-ester exfoliators for rough, bumpy patches, so use one or the other in the shower rather than both, given the dryness warning.
