No — Neutrogena's Transparent Facial Bar for acne-prone skin is a non-medicated glycerin cleansing bar with no active acne ingredient. It's a gentle cleanser to use alongside a treatment, not instead of one.
How do I use it?
Wet your face and hands with lukewarm water, work up a lather between your hands, massage it over your skin in small circles, then rinse and pat dry with a soft towel. Most people use it morning and evening.
Will it leave my skin tight or clogged?
The glycerin bar is made to rinse off cleanly without leaving a film. If your skin feels dry, use it once a day to start and follow with an oil-free moisturiser.
Can I use it with benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid?
Yes — wash with the bar, let your skin dry, then apply your leave-on treatment, such as Neutrogena Stubborn Acne AM Benzoyl Peroxide 2.5%. A non-medicated cleanser keeps the routine to one active ingredient.
Does it contain fragrance or animal-derived ingredients?
Yes to both: the ingredient list includes fragrance, sodium tallowate (from animal fat) and acetylated lanolin alcohol. If you react to fragrance or avoid animal ingredients, this bar isn't for you.
