Your questions, answered
What is MotionCalm labelled for?
Boiron's US label lists the prevention and treatment of nausea, vomiting or dizziness from motion sickness due to travel, amusement rides or video games. Boiron states that these claims are based on traditional homeopathic practice, not accepted medical evidence.
When should I take it before a journey?
To prevent symptoms, adults and children aged 7 and over dissolve 2 tablets in the mouth on the evening before travel and on the day of travel. If symptoms start, take 2 tablets and repeat if needed, up to 3 times a day.
Can young children take MotionCalm?
Yes, from age 2: for children aged 2 to 6, the tablets are dissolved in a tablespoon of water and given on the same schedule. For children under 2, ask a doctor.
Will MotionCalm make me drowsy?
No — the box says non-drowsy, and Boiron says it contains no meclizine, antihistamines or caffeine. The tablets melt in the mouth without water, which helps in the car or on a ferry.
How long does a box last?
The 60 MotionCalm tablets give 30 doses of 2. That covers the evening-before and day-of-travel doses for several trips, or 10 days at the treatment maximum of 6 tablets a day.
MotionCalm or NauseaCalm?
They contain the same five 4C actives. MotionCalm is labelled only for motion sickness and includes the preventive evening-before dose, while Boiron NauseaCalm also covers nausea from an upset stomach, overindulgence or stomach flu.
When should I stop and see a doctor?
Stop and ask a doctor if symptoms last more than 2 days or get worse. If you're pregnant or breastfeeding, ask a health professional before use.
Individual results may vary.
