How to use it
Dosage: Take a single pack 30-45 minutes before bed. For best results, take on an empty stomach. If you use an evening protein shake allow 30 minutes for digestion before taking Animal PM.

Your questions, answered
What's in each Animal PM pack?
One pack gives 10.5mg vitamin B6, 450mg magnesium (as oxide) and 30mg zinc, plus a 3000mg complex of GABA, arginine AKG, ornithine, L-tryptophan and alpha-GPC. There's also a 2500mg glutamine, EAA and astragalus complex and a 1250mg blend of valerian, chamomile, hops and L-theanine.
When do I take it?
One pack 30–45 minutes before bed, ideally on an empty stomach; if you have an evening protein shake, leave 30 minutes before taking Animal PM. The tub holds 30 packs, so it's a month of nightly use.
What do the vitamins and minerals do?
Magnesium and vitamin B6 contribute to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue, magnesium contributes to normal muscle function, and zinc contributes to normal protein synthesis. GABA, valerian and the other complexes have no authorised claims in the UK, so we make no sleep promises for them.
Are there safety warnings?
Yes — the label says not to take Animal PM if you can't get a full night's rest, if you'll be driving or operating machinery, or with alcohol or prescription medication. It's not for under-18s or during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Are the zinc and B6 doses high?
Yes — 30mg zinc and 10.5mg B6 per pack, against UK reference intakes of 10mg and 1.4mg. NHS advice is not to take more than 25mg zinc or 10mg vitamin B6 a day from supplements unless a doctor advises it, so speak to your GP before using it nightly and don't add other zinc or B6 products.
Is Animal PM suitable for vegetarians?
No — the capsules contain gelatin, and the label says the product contains soy and is made where milk, egg, peanuts, tree nuts, fish, shellfish and wheat are handled. It also uses artificial colours, including FD&C Red #40 and Red #3.
Can I take it with Animal Pak?
Universal builds the range to stack, with Universal Nutrition Animal Pak 44 Packs, which we also stock, in the morning and Animal PM at night. Pak also contains zinc and B vitamins, so add up the daily totals with a pharmacist before combining them.
