What's in one Animal Pak pack?
Going by the label for this 44-pack, one Animal Pak pack gives 500mg vitamin C, 1g calcium, 200mg magnesium, 15mg zinc and 38mg each of thiamin and riboflavin, alongside amino acid, performance, antioxidant and digestive-enzyme complexes. The label lists amounts per two packs, so halve them for a single pack.
One pack or two a day?
One pack with breakfast or another meal, with plenty of water. Universal suggests two packs, 4–12 hours apart, for people who compete or train at higher intensity, so the tin lasts 44 days at one a day or 22 days at two.
Is the vitamin B6 dose in Animal Pak high?
Yes — one Animal Pak pack has 90mg of vitamin B6, far above the 10mg a day from supplements that the NHS says is unlikely to cause harm. Speak to your GP or pharmacist before taking it for months at a time, and don't add a separate B6 product.
What do the vitamins and minerals do?
Vitamin C contributes to the normal function of the immune system, and thiamin, riboflavin and niacin contribute to normal energy-yielding metabolism. Zinc contributes to normal protein synthesis.
Why is my urine bright yellow after taking it?
That's the riboflavin (vitamin B2): each pack has 38mg, and what the body doesn't use is passed out in urine, which turns it vivid yellow. It's expected with high-dose B-vitamin formulas.
Is it vegetarian or dairy-free?
No to both — the tablets contain whey protein concentrate (milk) and bovine liver. They're made in a facility that also uses soy, egg and peanuts.
Animal Pak or Animal M-Stak?
Animal Pak is the daily vitamin and mineral base; Universal Nutrition Animal M-Stak, which we also stock, is a separate 21-pack cycle of amino, mushroom and adaptogen complexes with about 200mg of caffeine and no vitamins. Some lifters use both, so check the two labels side by side before combining them.
