How to use it

How strong are TUMS Chewy Bites?
Each chewable tablet contains 750mg calcium carbonate (Extra Strength 750), which provides 300mg of elemental calcium. This tub has 32 tablets in assorted berry flavours.
How many can I take?
Adults and children aged 12 and over chew 2 to 4 tablets as symptoms occur. Don't take more than 6 in 24 hours, and don't use the maximum dose for more than 2 weeks except on a doctor's advice.
What do they relieve?
The US label lists heartburn, acid indigestion, sour stomach and upset stomach associated with these symptoms. The tub says Chewy Bites go to work in seconds.
Can I take them while pregnant?
The label's limit for pregnancy is the same 6 tablets in 24 hours. Check with your midwife, GP or pharmacist before using any antacid regularly during pregnancy.
Can I take them with my prescription medicine?
Ask a doctor or pharmacist first: the label warns that antacids may interact with certain prescription drugs. If symptoms last more than 2 weeks, see a doctor rather than keep taking Chewy Bites.
Are they vegan or soy-free?
No — the inactive ingredients include soy lecithin, soybean oil, beeswax, shellac and carmine colour, along with sucrose, corn syrup and tartrazine (yellow 5). They aren't suitable for vegans or anyone with a soy allergy.
