Is Orange Mango Power Pak really sugar-free?
Yes. This Zero Sugar Power Pak is sweetened with xylitol and the stevia extracts Reb A and Reb M, and each stick has 5 calories and 1 g of carbohydrate. The orange colour comes from beta-carotene.
What's in each stick?
1,200 mg vitamin C, 100 mg magnesium, 200 mg potassium, 75 mg sodium, 60 mg calcium, 5 mg zinc, 35 mcg selenium, 25 mcg vitamin D, 10 mg B6 and 25 mcg B12, plus 100 mg of ConcenTrace trace minerals. That's the same nutrient panel as the sugar-sweetened Power Paks.
Is xylitol safe?
For people, the amount in one stick is small, though large amounts of sugar alcohols can have a laxative effect. Xylitol is poisonous to dogs, so keep the sticks and any made-up drink away from pets.
Does it fit a keto or low-carb diet?
Yes for most plans: 1 g of carbohydrate per stick and no sugar. It's also an easy swap if you're trying to cut sugary sports drinks.
How do I use it?
Stir one stick into 60–90 ml (2–3 oz) of water, then dilute to taste. One a day is the label serving, with more allowed on high-activity days, but each stick already has 10 mg of vitamin B6, the NHS's suggested daily maximum from supplements.
What do the nutrients do?
Vitamin C and zinc contribute to the normal function of the immune system, and vitamin C, vitamin B6 and vitamin B12 contribute to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue. Each Orange Mango stick also gives 100 mg of magnesium, which contributes to electrolyte balance.
Orange Mango or the Lemon Lime Power Pak?
Trace Minerals Power Pak Non-GMO - Lemon Lime has the same vitamins and minerals but is sweetened partly with 1 g of organic cane sugar instead of xylitol. Choose Orange Mango if you avoid sugar, Lemon Lime if you'd rather avoid sugar alcohols.
