What's in two gummies?
300mg KSM-66 ashwagandha root extract, 25mcg (1,000 IU) vitamin D3 and 10mg ConcenTrace trace minerals, for 15 calories. They are sweetened with maltitol and isomalt instead of sugar and coloured with turmeric and paprika.
How many gummies should I take?
Trace's directions are two gummies up to three times a day, alone or with a meal and plenty of fluid. At two a day the jar of 60 lasts 30 days; at the full six a day it lasts 10.
Is six gummies a day too much vitamin D?
Six gummies give 75mcg of vitamin D3. That is under the 100mcg daily upper limit for adults but far above the NHS's suggested 10mcg, so add up any other vitamin D you take. Many people stay at two gummies.
What will the ashwagandha do?
Ashwagandha has no authorised health claims in the UK, so we don't promise calm, stress relief or stamina. The vitamin D in each two-gummy serving contributes to the normal function of the immune system and the maintenance of normal muscle function.
Who should avoid these gummies?
Trace advises that pregnant women, nursing mothers and people with autoimmune conditions avoid ashwagandha, and that you check with a healthcare provider if you take medication. Some people get mild drowsiness, an upset stomach or headaches, mostly at higher doses.
Are they vegetarian?
Yes. The bottle carries a Certified Vegetarian mark and states no known allergens, with pectin rather than gelatine. The 6g of sugar alcohols per serving can have a laxative effect if you eat too many.
