Your questions, answered
How much creatine is in a serving?
One 3g serving (¾ scoop) gives 2,600mg of creatine monohydrate, which is 2,288mg of creatine itself. The 300g tub holds 100 servings.
Does one serving reach the 3g a day used for creatine claims?
Not quite. The authorised UK claim, that creatine increases physical performance in successive bursts of short-term, high-intensity exercise, applies at 3g of creatine a day, and one serving of OstroVit Creatine Monohydrate provides 2,288mg. So we don't make that claim for this label serving.
How do I take it?
Mix 3g into 100–150ml of water or juice. OstroVit's label says to take it after waking or after training on training days, after waking on rest days, and to drink at least 3 litres of water a day while you use it.
Which flavours are there, and how is it sweetened?
We list Mango, Green Apple, Cola and Cherry. The flavoured powder contains citric acid, flavouring and the sweeteners sucralose and acesulfame K alongside the creatine monohydrate.
Will creatine make me put on weight?
It can: the OstroVit label warns that an increase in body weight may occur. With creatine that's usually extra water held in the muscles rather than fat.
Who shouldn't use it?
The label says it isn't suitable for children and young people. OstroVit's current labelling also says it shouldn't be used by pregnant or breastfeeding women or by people with kidney problems.
OstroVit or Trec Creatine 100%?
Trec Creatine 100% 300g gives 3.36g of creatine per 5g scoop (with sodium citrate and vitamin C) over 60 portions, enough for the authorised 3g claim. OstroVit Creatine Monohydrate is the flavoured option with a smaller 3g serving and 100 servings per tub.
Individual results may vary.
