No — Neutrogena Stubborn Acne Pimple Patches are non-medicated hydrocolloid patches with no salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. They absorb fluid from the spot and cover it so you can't pick at it.
How long do I leave one on?
At least 8 hours, or overnight. To take it off, loosen one edge and stretch it slowly along the skin rather than pulling it upwards.
Why has the patch turned white?
That's the hydrocolloid soaking up fluid from the blemish, which shows the patch is working.
Which spots do they suit?
Single surfaced spots on the face, the kind with a visible head or that have already opened. The label says not to use them on deep or infected acne wounds, or on severe or cystic acne.
Can I put spot gel or moisturiser under the patch?
No — apply it to clean, dry skin with nothing underneath so it sticks, and moisturise around it afterwards. For deeper spots, Neutrogena Rapid Clear Stubborn Acne Spot Gel with 10% benzoyl peroxide is the medicated option, used separately.
Are they OK for sensitive skin?
