What is gotu kola?
Gotu kola is Centella asiatica, a small creeping plant of the parsley family used for centuries in Ayurvedic and Chinese herbal tradition. It has nothing to do with the cola nut and contains no caffeine.
How much is in each capsule?
Each Essensey Gotu Kola capsule holds 200mg of Centella asiatica extract, and one capsule is the full daily portion. The 90 capsules therefore last three months.
How do I take it?
One capsule once a day with a glass of water, during a meal. The label asks you not to go over one capsule a day.
What will it do for me?
Gotu kola has no authorised health claims in the UK, so we can't promise a particular effect. People who buy Essensey Gotu Kola usually want a measured, standardised daily amount of the herb rather than dried leaf or tea.
Is it the same Centella as in skincare creams?
It's the same plant (often listed as cica or Centella asiatica on skincare), but this is an extract you swallow, not a topical product. Don't open the capsules to use on skin.
