What is Oscillococcinum used for?
Boiron's US Drug Facts say Oscillococcinum temporarily relieves flu-like symptoms such as body aches, headache, fever, chills and fatigue, and give its purpose as reducing their duration and severity. These uses haven't been evaluated by the FDA, and Boiron advises taking it at the first sign of symptoms.
How do I take a dose?
Tip the entire contents of one tube into your mouth and let the pellets dissolve; you don't need water. Repeat every 6 hours, up to 3 times a day.
How long does the 12-dose box last?
At the maximum of 3 tubes a day, the 12 doses of Oscillo last one person 4 days. The label says to stop and ask a doctor if symptoms persist for more than 3 days or get worse.
Can children take Oscillo?
Yes, from 2 years old, at the same dose as adults. For children under 2, ask a doctor before use.
What is the active ingredient?
Anas barbariae 200CK HPUS, a homeopathic preparation used at a very high dilution. The pellets themselves are lactose and sucrose, with 1 g of sugar in each 1 g dose, so bear that in mind if you avoid lactose or count sugar.
Can I take it if I'm pregnant or breastfeeding?
Ask a health professional before use, as the label directs. Store the box at 20–25°C, out of reach of children, and don't use it if the end flaps are open or the tray seal is broken.

The 12-dose box covers one person's 3-day course with doses to spare. Boiron OSCILLO 30 DOSE holds 30 of the same tubes, which suits a household or a whole winter.
