What is Histaminum 30C used for?
According to Boiron's label, Histaminum hydrochloricum 30C temporarily relieves hay fever symptoms and itching from hives, and allergic reactions to pollen, ragweed, mould, dust mites and pet dander. Boiron states that these uses are based on traditional homeopathic practice, not accepted medical evidence.
How do I take the pellets?
At the onset of symptoms, dissolve 5 pellets under the tongue every 15 minutes for 1 hour, then 5 pellets 3 times a day until symptoms are relieved. Turn the tube upside down and twist the cap to release 5 pellets without touching them.
How many doses are in 3 tubes?
Each tube holds about 80 pellets, so the pack has 240, or about 48 doses of 5. The first hour of the onset schedule uses around 20 pellets, and 3 doses a day after that use 15.
Can children take Histaminum?
Yes — the label gives the same directions for adults and children. If you're pregnant or breastfeeding, ask a health professional before use.
When do I need urgent help?
Get emergency help straight away if hives come with trouble breathing or swallowing, swelling of the tongue or mouth, wheezing, drooling, trouble speaking, dizziness or fainting. The label also says not to use Histaminum to prevent hives, and to see a doctor if symptoms last more than 3 days or get worse.
Is it lactose-free?
No — the pellets are made of lactose and sucrose, the only inactive ingredients. They are tiny, but check with a pharmacist if you need to avoid lactose completely.
Will Histaminum make me drowsy?
The box describes it as non-drowsy, and the label carries no drowsiness warning. It is a single homeopathic remedy and contains no conventional antihistamine such as cetirizine or loratadine.
