What is Gasalia used for?
Gasalia is a homeopathic medicine labelled for the relief of bloating, pressure, discomfort and pain associated with gas. As the box notes, these uses are based on traditional homeopathic practice rather than accepted medical evidence.
How do I take Gasalia?
At the first sign of symptoms, dissolve 2 tablets in the mouth every hour until relieved. If needed, you can also dissolve 2 tablets 15 minutes before meals; no water is required.
Can children take it?
Current Boiron US cartons cover adults and children 6 and over, and say to ask a doctor for children under 6. Always follow the age range printed on the box you have.
What are the active ingredients?
Four homeopathic actives, each at 6C: Carbo vegetabilis, Lycopodium clavatum, Nux moschata and Raphanus sativus (black radish). The 60 meltaway tablets are made with lactose, croscarmellose sodium and magnesium stearate.
Is Gasalia suitable if I avoid lactose?
Probably not — the tablets use lactose as their base, so they aren't suitable if you need to avoid lactose completely. Ask a pharmacist about alternatives.
When should I see a doctor instead?
Stop using Gasalia and ask a doctor if symptoms last more than 7 days or get worse. If you're pregnant or breastfeeding, check with a health professional before use.
Can I take it with my other medicines?
The Boiron carton states no known drug interactions. Still check with a pharmacist if you take regular medication or the bloating is new or unexplained.
