What does ColdCalm Kids relieve?
Boiron's US Drug Facts say it temporarily relieves cold symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, nasal congestion and minor sore throat. Boiron notes that these claims are based on traditional homeopathic practice, not accepted medical evidence.
What age is it for?
Children aged 3 and over. For children under 3, the label says to ask a doctor; Boiron ColdCalm Baby, which we also stock, is the separate baby formula, so check its label for ages.
How do I give the pellets?
At the onset of symptoms, dissolve 5 pellets under your child's tongue every 15 minutes for 1 hour. After that, give 5 pellets every 6 hours, and give them less often as your child improves.
How many doses are in the box?
The ColdCalm Kids box holds 2 tubes of about 80 pellets each, 160 in total, which is 32 doses of 5 pellets.
What's in ColdCalm Kids?
Nine homeopathic actives: Allium cepa 3C, Apis mellifica 6C, Belladonna 6C, Eupatorium perfoliatum 3C, Gelsemium sempervirens 6C, Kali bichromicum 6C, Nux vomica 3C, Phytolacca decandra 6C and Pulsatilla 6C, in lactose and sucrose pellets. The box describes them as non-drowsy, with no known drug interactions.
When should I see a doctor instead?
Ask a doctor before use if the sore throat is severe or comes with fever, headache, rash, nausea or vomiting. Stop and ask a doctor if symptoms last more than 2 days, get worse, or new symptoms appear.
ColdCalm Kids pellets or liquid doses?
Both are Boiron's ColdCalm Kids for children's colds. The pellets melt under the tongue and two tubes go a long way, while Boiron ColdCalm Kids 30 Liquid Doses are single-use vials you squeeze into the mouth, which suits children who won't keep pellets under their tongue.
