What is AllergyCalm Kids used for?
Boiron labels AllergyCalm Kids for temporary relief of hay fever and other upper-respiratory allergy symptoms in children: sneezing, runny nose, itchy and watery eyes, and itchy throat and nose. It's a homeopathic medicine, and Boiron says its claims are based on traditional homeopathic practice, not accepted medical evidence.
How do I give it to my child?
For children aged 2 to 11, the label says: when symptoms start, dissolve 5 pellets under the tongue every 15 minutes for 1 hour, then 5 pellets 3 times a day until symptoms are relieved. Turn the tube to drop the pellets into the cap so you don't need to touch them.
How many doses are in the pack?
About 48. Each of the 3 tubes holds roughly 80 pellets, 240 in total, and one dose is 5 pellets.
What's in the pellets?
Five homeopathic actives: Allium cepa 5C, Ambrosia artemisiaefolia 5C, Euphrasia officinalis 5C, Histaminum hydrochloricum 9C and Sabadilla 5C, on pellets made of lactose and sucrose. Check with a pharmacist if your child is lactose intolerant.
Will AllergyCalm Kids make my child drowsy?
Boiron labels the pellets non-drowsy. If your child takes other medicines, check with a pharmacist before adding these.
When should we see a doctor instead?
The label says to stop and ask a doctor if symptoms persist or get worse. Get urgent help for wheezing, difficulty breathing or facial swelling, and only use the pellets in children under 2 on a doctor's advice.

AllergyCalm Kids is labelled for allergy symptoms such as sneezing and itchy eyes, while Boiron ColdCalm Kids pellets, which we also stock, are labelled for common cold symptoms. If you're not sure which your child has, ask a pharmacist.
