What does ColdCalm Kids Liquid Doses relieve?
Boiron's US Drug Facts say it temporarily relieves cold symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, nasal congestion and occasional minor sore throat. Boiron prints that these claims are based on traditional homeopathic practice, not accepted medical evidence.
What age is it for?
Children aged 4 and over, according to the box. For children under 4 the label says to ask a doctor; Boiron ColdCalm Baby 30 Liquid Doses, which we also stock, is the separate formula for babies from 6 months.
How often can I give a vial?
One whole vial at the onset of symptoms, repeated up to 6 times a day, and less often as your child improves. Tear open the foil pouch, snap off one vial, twist off the top and squeeze the entire 1 ml into your child's mouth.
How long does a box of 30 last?
At the maximum of 6 vials a day, the 30 doses cover 5 days. Once the foil pouch is open, keep unused vials in it for up to 3 months below 25°C, and don't refrigerate or freeze them.
What's in each vial?
Eight homeopathic actives (Allium cepa 3C, Apis mellifica 15C, Eupatorium perfoliatum 3C, Gelsemium sempervirens 6C, Kali bichromicum 6C, Nux vomica 3C, Phytolacca decandra 6C and Pulsatilla 6C) in purified water. The only other ingredient is a trace of alcohol, 0.0015%, and there's no sugar.
When should I see a doctor instead?
Ask a doctor before use if a sore throat is severe or comes with fever, headache, rash, nausea or vomiting. Stop and ask a doctor if the sore throat lasts more than 2 days, a blocked nose lasts more than 5 days in a child under 12, or new symptoms appear.
Liquid doses or the ColdCalm Kids pellets?
Both are Boiron's children's cold formula. ColdCalm Kids Liquid Doses suit children who chew or spit out pellets, because you squeeze each vial straight into the mouth; Boiron ColdCalm Kids Pell melts under the tongue and is made with lactose and sucrose.
