What is Arnicare Gel used for?
Its US label says it temporarily relieves muscle pain and stiffness from minor injuries, overexertion and falls, and reduces the pain, swelling and discolouration of bruises. Boiron states these uses are based on traditional homeopathic practice, not accepted medical evidence.
How do I apply it?
Apply a thin layer of Arnicare Gel to the area as soon as possible after a minor injury, then repeat 3 times a day or as needed. If you've used heat or ice, wait 5 minutes before applying it.
What's in Arnicare Gel?
The active ingredient is Arnica montana 1X HPUS at 7%, a mother tincture made from the fresh whole plant. The gel base is alcohol, carbomer, purified water and sodium hydroxide, and it's fragrance-free and non-greasy.
Can I put it on broken or irritated skin?
No. It's for external use only: keep it away from wounds, damaged or irritated skin, eyes and mucous membranes. Don't tightly wrap or bandage the treated area, and note that dryness or irritation may occur.
When should I stop and see a doctor?
Stop using it and ask a doctor if the problem lasts more than 3 days or gets worse, or clears up and comes back within a few days. Don't use it if you're allergic to arnica, and get medical help if any is swallowed.
Arnicare Gel or Arnicare Cream?
Both carry the same arnica label uses. Arnicare Gel is the quick-absorbing, non-greasy option in a 120 g value tube, while Boiron Arnicare Cream (70 g), which we also stock, is a cream you massage in.
