How strong is the AcneFree Deep Cleansing Foaming Wash?
Maximum strength: it contains 10% benzoyl peroxide, and its labelled use is the treatment of acne. The tube holds 150ml (5 fl oz).
How do I use it?
Massage a dime-sized amount (about the size of a 5p coin) onto damp skin, avoiding the eye area, then rinse well. Start once a day and increase to morning and evening as needed.
What are the ceramides and niacinamide for?
They're the 'care' half of the formula: AcneFree adds ceramides, niacinamide, oat kernel extract and sodium hyaluronate, and the tube says the wash helps protect the skin barrier. The acne treatment itself is the benzoyl peroxide.
Can I use it on my chest and back?
Yes — the label says the AcneFree wash may be used on the chest or back. Keep it off your hair and coloured towels or clothes, which benzoyl peroxide can bleach.
Is it suitable for sensitive skin?
Not for very sensitive skin: the label says not to use it if your skin is very sensitive or you're sensitive to benzoyl peroxide. Redness, burning, itching or peeling may ease if you use it less often; stop and ask a doctor if irritation becomes severe.
Can I use it with AcneFree Terminator 10?
With care: Terminator 10 is a leave-on spot treatment, and the label warns irritation and dryness are more likely when you use two topical acne medications together. If irritation occurs, use only one.
Do I need sunscreen while using it?
Yes, on days you go outside: the label says to avoid unnecessary sun exposure and apply sunscreen after using this wash. Keep it away from your eyes, lips and mouth.
