How long should the wash stay on my skin?
Give it a minute or two of contact before rinsing - benzoyl peroxide needs time on skin to do its work, and instantly rinsing is the most common reason washes 'don't work'. Start with one application a day - or every other day if your skin is sensitive - and build up gradually, as the US label advises, to keep dryness and peeling manageable.
Anything it will destroy besides my spots?
One practical warning from experience: benzoyl peroxide can bleach fabric, so switch to white towels and an old pillowcase while you use it. As a rinse-off you're safer than with leave-on gels, but thorough rinsing and old towels are still wise.
My skin's gone tight and flaky - is that it working?
It's the known trade-off of 10% strength, not a bonus effect - ease back to every other day, moisturise well, and rebuild frequency slowly. If irritation is severe, stop. Follow the label directions closely, and ask a pharmacist if you're unsure whether it suits you.
