Our Calcium section has two contrasting products: OstroVit Vitamin D3 + K2 + Calcium, a 90-tablet combination with calcium carbonate, and Trace Minerals Liquid Ionic Calcium, a 59ml vegan concentrate you add to drinks. Both suit adults whose diet is light on dairy, fortified foods or other calcium sources.
The NHS says adults need 700mg of calcium a day, and most people can get this from food such as dairy, fortified plant drinks, tofu set with calcium, and bread made with fortified flour. Taking 1,500mg or less a day from supplements is unlikely to cause harm. Count the calcium in any multivitamin or Cal/Mag/Zinc liquid you already take.

Vitamin D contributes to the normal absorption and utilisation of calcium, so the two are often combined. OstroVit also adds vitamin K, which contributes to the maintenance of normal bones.
Yes, it is labelled vegan and contains purified water and citric acid. Take 1.25ml daily in food or juice, as the label directs.
Take them at different times of day, because calcium can reduce how much iron your body absorbs. A morning and evening split works well.
Check the label. Vitamin D3 is often made from lanolin from sheep's wool, so D3 products are not automatically vegan.
