How much protein is in each serving of Casein 100?
A 30 g serving (two scoops) gives about 23 g protein, 109 kcal, 2.9 g carbohydrate and 0.63 g fat, going by the chocolate label. The powder is 87–95% micellar casein from milk, depending on flavour.
When should I take it?
Trec's label suggests up to three 30 g servings a day: on training days one after getting up, one within 1.5 hours of your workout and one at bedtime; on rest days, morning, between meals and bedtime. The bedtime shake is the one most people buy casein for, because micellar casein digests slowly.
How long does the 1800g jar last?
The jar holds 60 servings of 30 g: two months of one bedtime shake a day, or 20 days at Trec's full 90 g daily portion. Once opened, use it within three months.
What does casein protein do for muscle?
Protein contributes to a growth in muscle mass and to the maintenance of muscle mass, and Casein 100 is a high-protein way to add it to your evening. It's a supplement to a varied diet, not a meal replacement.
Who can't use Casein 100?
Anyone with a milk allergy, as it's made from milk protein; it may also contain soya, gluten, fish and peanuts from the factory. Trec says children and pregnant or breastfeeding women must not take it.
Which flavours come in the 1800g jar, and how thick is it?
Chocolate, Creamy Vanilla and Strawberry, all sweetened with sucralose. Shake two scoops with 200 ml water or milk; casein drinks thicker than whey, so add a splash more liquid if you prefer it thinner.
Should I try the 600g tub first?
If Casein 100 is new to you, the 600 g tub is the same powder with 20 servings, also in chocolate, vanilla and strawberry. The 1800 g jar gives three times the servings once the evening shake is a habit.
