I bake every weekend and sugar is the last thing I haven't swapped - can granular monk fruit cope with the oven?
This is the format made for it: granular monk fruit scoops, sprinkles and creams into recipes the way a dry sweetener should, with zero sugar and zero calories. Follow the pack's conversion guide for amounts, as it is sweeter than sugar spoon for spoon.
Bag or canister - and which size?
Three options: the 240g bag (60 servings) to trial it, the 800g bag (200 servings) as the baker's value size, and the 240g canister for tidy scooping by the kettle. The sweetener inside is the same in all three.
Stevia always leaves a bitter note for me - is monk fruit any different?
Many people who find stevia bitter get on better with monk fruit - a small fruit whose extract delivers intense sweetness with zero sugar and zero calories, and a cleaner finish to most palates. Dose it a drop at a time and taste as you go; a little covers a whole drink.
Do I use it one-for-one in place of sugar?
Check the pack's conversion guide before you tip it in - granular monk fruit sweeteners are typically sweeter than sugar measure for measure, so recipes need less. Start conservative, taste the batter, and note your ratio for next time.
I'm cutting sugar hard - keto on weekdays, watching everything - does this actually fit?
It adds sweetness without sugar or calories - the label lists zero of both - which is why it is a staple in keto and low-carb kitchens. If you are managing diabetes it will not add sugar to your food or drink, but keep your GP or diabetes nurse in the loop on your overall diet rather than leaning on any one product.
